The division of Community Health Development provides health education and promotion for Fairfield County and the surrounding region. We have multiple programs - mostly grant-funded - that address the health and wellness needs of our fellow citizens. We work with other public and private agencies, as well as the faith-based community and private citizens. If you would like to become involved in any of the coalitions we work with, please contact the health educator listed with the program. They will be happy to provide information to you!

Healthy Ohio is a key component of Governor Ted Strickland’s comprehensive health care reform initiative and is located in the Ohio Department of Health (ODH). Healthy Ohio’s goal is to improve the health of all Ohioans to create a better quality of life, assure a more productive workforce and equip students for learning, while also contributing to the more efficient and cost-effective use of medical services.

Healthy Ohio’s three core program areas of health promotion, disease prevention and health equity work collaboratively with public and private partners and consult with the Healthy Ohio Advisory Council to create the changes in communities, worksites, schools and health care settings that lead to better health for all Ohioans.
