Fairfield Department of Health CLINIC supervisor nominated as health
care hero
Karolyn Kunz, RN, Clinic Supervisor at the
Fairfield Department of Health, is one of only 53 individuals or
organizations in central Ohio nominated to receive the Health
Care Heroes Award sponsored by
Business
First in Columbus. Kunz was nominated by Clinic Medical
Director, Dr. Terresa Hawthorne, who praised Karolyn’s
dedication, compassion and clinical abilities.
Karolyn has been a
Clinic Supervisor with the Fairfield Department of Health for
seven years. In this position, she takes care of ensuring the
smooth operation of the clinic which includes supervising the
staff, seeing patients, overseeing the billing, and conducting
chart audits, as well as ordering and maintaining equipment.
Karolyn said she
always wanted to be a nurse in order to help people, and that
same dedication still holds today. “I’ve worked as a physician
for a long time,” stated Dr. Hawthorne. “Karolyn is one of the
best supervisors and nurses I’ve ever worked with. She is
totally dedicated to the patients and the employees. Because of
that, any issues are handled respectfully and fairly. Karolyn
works extra hours to ensure that clinic records and protocols
are standardized and organized. She is a great role model as a
compassionate and extremely competent professional.”
