The Fairfield County Action for Healthy Kids is a diverse group of Fairfield County residents concerned about the health of our children; focusing on good nutrition and physical activity. Our coalition strives to view the whole picture, working with schools and out in the community to help our kids live healthier lives. We continually welcome new members interested in the coalition. Please contact Pat Navin, Director of Community Health Development for more information and/or questions.

Coalition Meetings: Every third Thursday of the month at 3 pm. Meetings held at the Fairfield Medical Center (2nd Floor, Marketing Department)

   Our goals are to:

  • Ensure that meals offered through all school feeding programs meet federal nutrition standards; in Ohio we are focusing on the expansion of participating in the School Breakfast Program.

  • Ensure that healthy snacks and foods are provided in vending machines, school stores and other venues within the school's control.

  • Provide adequate co-curricular physical activity programs, including fully inclusive intramural programs and physical activity clubs.
